In the Minas Gerais region of Brazil, third-generation coffee farmer Eduardo Pinheiro Campos owns the carefully tended farm known as Fazenda Dona Neném. Named for his mother, he shows the care you might expect of land named for a family member. Utz certified with a Rainforest Alliance certification, he paid special attention to land care before certifications even existed. The Campos family is one of the pioneer farmers in this region, the most famous in Brazil for producing coffee. They also have a long history of award winning coffee, including first place finishes in local and national auctions.
This lot is the Yellow Bourbon variety, and was hand-picked, as opposed to most coffee in Brazil, which is mechanically harvested. Dona Neném is part of the Expocaccer coffee cooperative, which represents more than 650 small and medium coffee producers in Cerrado Mineiro.
